THE FITH JOYFUL MYSTERY

FINDING THE CHILD JESUS IN THE TEMPLE

After three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. (Luke 2:46)

Fruit of the mystery: Joy in finding Jesus

Mary and Joseph were used to having Jesus around. He was always with them. When they realized He was not with them they became extremely concerned and upset. They were probably more scared and concerned with every call out to Him in their efforts to find their son. But finally, they found Him. He was in the temple. He was about His father’s business.

It is too easy to get comfortable with our Faith. It is as if Jesus will always be there. But the truth is, if we take our eye off of Him, as His parents did in the caravan, we will lose Him as well. Our lives will become confused and stressful. We can cry out for Him but what good will that do?

We have to find Him. Lucky for us He is easy to find! He is in His father’s house. He is there waiting for us to come to Him and find Him. If we do take time to find Him, we will experience much joy and peace.

Let us not separate ourselves from He who loved so much, that He gave His very life for us. Let us constantly seek Him, in order to grow in our love for Him and for others.

“Our communal worship at Mass must go together with our personal worship of Jesus in Eucharistic adoration in order that our love may be complete.” (St. Pope John Paul II)
