MEN OF COURAGEOUS FAITH

I was blessed to grow up with a father who was a very principled man.  He stood strong in what he believed in and was not afraid to say what was on his mind.  Sometimes people did not like what he said, but he said it anyway.  And through it all, people never had to guess where my father stood. This is a very important for men of faith to adopt.

We live in a very toxic culture and the voice of all contrary to God is loud.  Timidity in our faith lets this voice take over and it is poisoning our society and destroying the family.  We must be strong, seeing where the evil is creeping in and defend our faith and values.    “Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong.  Let all that you do be done in love.”  (1 Corinthians 16:13)

This is not to suggest being combative, rather being firm in our belief and principles and speaking what we know to be Chist’s way.  We must remember that in every situation we are in we make a choice.  Doing or saying nothing is a choice.  Choices have consequences.  We answer to God for all our actions and inactions.  “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.” (Matthew 12:30)

We must be men of courageous faith, protecting our families and communities from the harms of evil.  Our heads must not be buried in the sand, they must be raised high and alert.  We have nothing to fear for God is with us.  Where can we be more visible in our faith?  Where can we find opportunity to share our faith and bring people to Christ?  What example are we setting for our children?  The task is large and the consequences significant.  Pray to do well!

“Let us trust in Him who has placed this burden upon us.  What we ourselves cannot bear let us bear with the help of Christ.  For he is all-powerful, and he tells us: My yoke is easy, and my burden light’.”  (St. Boniface)
